MYDNSREPORT RESOURCE

Privacy and data use

What is sent when you use mydnsreport.com, and how to contact us about privacy.

Website visits

Your hosting connection necessarily exposes information such as your IP address and requested page to the hosting service. Hosting providers may retain access and security logs under their own configuration. mydnsreport.com does not promise that these infrastructure logs are anonymous or disabled.

DNS and registration lookups

A DNS lookup sends the hostname and requested record type from your browser to Google Public DNS or Cloudflare, according to your choice. The service also receives connection information, including your IP address. The homepage report, registration and domain-age tools use public RDAP services (including the rdap.org bootstrap service); the public-IP tool contacts an external IP service. Do not submit confidential internal hostnames or credentials.

The new DNS lookup keeps its result in page memory and does not save lookup history to a database. Downloading a report saves a file on your own device. Retained tools may use browser storage for preferences; clearing site data removes these locally stored values.

SMTP and contact

If a server-backed SMTP feature is configured, its input is sent to the website’s PHP endpoint and the selected mail server. Do not submit mailbox passwords unless you trust the deployment and its transport security. Email sent to our contact address is processed by our email provider and used to respond to the inquiry.

Advertising and analytics

This release does not load advertising or analytics tags. If advertising or analytics is enabled in a later release, the disclosures and consent controls must describe the actual services in use. A local preference banner alone is not a substitute for Google’s certified consent platform where one is required.
